Although we're working hard to make the Toolbox CMS as close to perfect as possible, there will always be a rough edge or two. Specific Toolbox issues and problems that have been reported are noted here, with suggested ways to get around them.
If you find a new Toolbox splinter, please let us know — our goal is a satin finish!

Publishing your changes
Problem: After Publishing the new images that you have just added or modified do not display correctly on the page (they show up as missing).
Solution: Reload the page that has the images (by clicking your browser's reload button, which is usually a circular arrow). Reloading may cause the Toolbox's main window to lose its connection with the page being edited — meaning you won't see any Edit Boxes on the page. Clicking the Toolbox's link (usually located at the bottom of your site's pages) should cause the Toolbox to reload and re-establish the connection.
Problem: Sometimes hitting Publish doesn't actually save the changes to the page.
Solution: Make your edits in small blocks and Publish frequently. We realise that the Toolbox sometimes misses a Publish and we're working on solving this issue with the release of version 2.0 of the Toolbox (targeted for end of 2009).
The Toolbox's Text Editor
Problem: Creating links with Google's Chrome or Apple's Safari are not working correctly.
Solution: There is an issue with the Toolbox's Text Editor and both of these browsers (Webkit based browsers). Please use Firefox to add/edit links, until we can get a fix pushed out for this issue.
Images/Pictures
Problem: I tried to upload a photo to the Toolbox's Image Library, but after waiting a while I received an error saying the image was too large.
Solution: At the moment there is a limit to the pixel size of an image that can be uploaded to the Toolbox. This limit is 2500x2500 pixels (Pixels are the little square dots that make up the image). Normally, for use in web pages, you won't need images that are more than around 1200x1200 pixels of size.
The problem is that most new digital cameras take images with huge amounts of pixels — this means it takes a long time to upload and can then cause your poor web server memory problems, as it tries to resize the image to place on your web page (that's why we've limited the size to 2500x2500 pixels).
The solution for the moment is to resize your image before you upload it to your Webascent Toolbox's Image Library. We realise that this is not the ideal solution and are planning on addressing this issue with the release of version 2.0 of the Toolbox.
Here is a link to an easy to use & free online Image Editor, called Pixlr that will resize your images for you.
If you would rather use a normal program that is installed on your computer (they tend to be a lot faster for working with large images), then here are some free options for you:
- iPhoto — If you are using a Mac, you can export your image from iPhoto and have it reduce the size for you. (Here's a video how-to on exporting from iPhoto)
- Windows — you can download and install the excellent Paint.net.
Problem: After placing an image on my web page, there is a black border along one of the edges.
Solution: The Toolbox's Image Editor will sometimes allow you to choose a cropping area that is larger than the actual image (a crop area is the piece of the original image you are placing on your page). You can just add the image again and make sure the crop box doesn't go beyond the edge of your original image in the Image Editor.
